Chris Ross Commits to Laurentian

Chris Ross Commits to Laurentian

The Central Ontario Reds are proud to announce 18U player Chris Ross has committed  to Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario to continue his education and play baseball for Coach Jeffery and the Voyagers next fall.

Chris is the first ever Central Ontario Reds player to commit to a school to play baseball. Chris plans on studying Earth Science at Laurentian starting in the fall.

Chris is in his second season with the Reds and served as the teams lean on utility man. In the 2017/2018 season Chris played every position with the exception of Catcher and Centre Field. Chris demonstrated a good bat and great command on the mound. He played a huge part in the 2017/2018 season, and we are confident he will follow up with a stellar 2018/2019 season before heading off to University.

Chris is joining a fairly new baseball program at Laurentian as last year was their first season in school history. The Voyageurs and Coach Jeffery had a solid season, showing lots of potential for many years to come. The team made a big playoff push, and made it to the semi finals of the OUA playoff tournament.

We have seen Chris grow into an exceptional baseball player and shown pride in his character. Everyone at the Central Ontario Reds are excited for Chris and his family. We want to wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors. We would also like to thank Coach Jeffery and Laurentian University for their support of the Central Ontario Reds.

Congratulations Chris!
